Situated amid five hectares of forest and parkland in an outstandingly beautiful area of the Months d’Ambazac; Les Chênes offers a unique dining experience which is more private dining than busy restaurant.

Open for lunch and dinner Les Chênes caters for a small number of diners strictly by advanced reservation only. All meals are prepared and cooked in the kitchen for the number of diners who have booked.

Visiting Les Chênes gives the feeling of entering a home for a private party. It is, in fact, the home of chef/patron, Chef Mike. The interior décor is often described as quirky and very English; there are many artifacts displayed that have been collected over the years as has the small collection of contemporary art and the family portraits on the walls.

SUSTAINABILITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT

During the long covid lockdowns of 2020/21 Les Chênes started a horticultural project which has been very successful and satisfying. It’s planned to expand this project, growing more unusual vegetables, salad greens and, importantly, herbs.

Whenever possible Les Chênes purchases fresh local produce, particularly in regard to meat, from quality grass fed animals raised in the open air from French farmers who respect the wellbeing of their animals.

In the kitchen every effort is made to minimize wastage through recycling where possible, composting vegetable waste for the garden project and reducing the carbon footprint.
